Bill Savage and Jim Schmidt are the owners of S&S Training, Inc. They worked for
BGE as gas mechanics for approximately 30 years. They responded to gas leak
calls, repaired all gas appliances and all major electric appliances sold by BGE.
They spent the last 10 years of their careers in the Safety and Training Unit of the
Gas Division. Jim was the Safety Specialist and Bill was a Gas Safety Instructor at
the Pumphrey Training Center. They taught the gas fitter's course until BGE
discontinued it in the spring of 2001. At the time of their retirement in 2002, S&S
Training was formed. They became approved course providers for the State of
Maryland and Baltimore County, teaching those same courses that BGE had
discontinued. So, if you happened to have taken this course through BGE, Bill and
Jim may have been your instructors. They're just "dumb old gas men" who know
what it's like to work long, hard hours in the field. They teach what they know best.
